At Phoenixville Free Clinic, health equity means ensuring every patient is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect — regardless of insurance status or circumstance. Each year, our Volunteer Health Equity Award recognizes individuals whose service helps make that vision possible.

Jacki Tully, Medical Director, Barb Hemphill,
Emily Stahl, Shelley Meenan, Executive Director.
This year, we were proud to honor two extraordinary volunteers: Barb Hemphill, RN, and Emily Stahl, RN.
Both registered nurses joined PFC in 2024 and quickly became invaluable members of the care team. Barb brought her extensive critical care experience to patients with compassion and calm leadership, while also helping support specialists and mentor new volunteers. Emily demonstrated remarkable dedication by stepping into leadership roles, training fellow nurses, and generously giving long hours of service to meet patient needs.
Presenting the award, Medical Director Jacki Tully, CRNP shared that Barb and Emily
“go wherever the need is greatest, meeting every patient and colleague with respect, compassion, and a smile.”
Volunteers like Barb and Emily remind us that health equity is not just an idea — it is something built every day through service, advocacy, and human connection.
We are deeply grateful for their dedication and proud to celebrate the impact they continue to make at Phoenixville Free Clinic.
